Keynote Presentation - Josh Zinner, President of ICCR

Josh Zinner is the President of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR). In his role, Josh leads ICCR’s efforts in shareholder advocacy and advising non-profit institutional investors on proxy voting, coordinating shareholder actions, and education. ICCR has its roots in 1971, when the founders of our organization discovered a third, more nuanced and much more powerful investment strategy in attempting to respond to the human rights abuses occurring under the racist apartheid system in South Africa.

ICCR helps people of faith speak about the social impact of investments. Religious leaders of all faiths have long recognized how invested capital can bring about social change both by funding solutions and opportunities (impact investing) and discouraging practices and policies through the withdrawal/withholding of investments (screens or divestment).

Mr. Zinner’s keynote will focus on our role as institutional investors in the area of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters, followed by a panel of CBA and church leaders, who will discuss the priorities of their organization or religious tradition.
